
Lee Mun Wah will host a public showing of his internationally acclaimed film, The Color of Fear 1, Tuesday, April 15 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Penn State Harrisburg.
The film showing and discussion with Wah is free and open to the public in the Community Center in the student housing complex on campus. The presentation is hosted by the college Office of Multicultural Recruitment and Intercultural Affairs with support from the Student Activity Fee Fund.
The Color of Fear 1 is about eight men of various ethnicities engaging in an intimate and honest dialogue about race and the effects of racism on their lives and families
Wah is a lecturer and trainer, Chinese American community therapist, documentary filmmaker, educator, performing poet, Asian folkteller, and author. In 1993, his first film on Asian Americans, Stolen Ground, won the San Francisco International Film Festival’s Certificate of Merit Award for Best Bay Area Documentary. His second film, The Color of Fear, won the National Educational Media Network’s Best Social Documentary Award in 1995.
That same year, Oprah Winfrey televised a one-hour special on his work and life. He has since produced two more films --Last Chance for Eden I and The Color of Fear II.
