Photo exhibit studies 35 years on a family farm

April 21, 2008

An area family farm and the people it has touched over 35 years are the main ingredients in a photographic exhibit open to the public through June 30 at Penn State Harrisburg.

The work of Shiremanstown photographer Robert Willis is on exhibit in the main central lobby of Olmsted building from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

“The photographs in this exhibition are a culmination of countless attempts, stretching over 35 years of family ownership, to search out the spirit of this farm and its people.  The photos are of a personal nature, with documentation an integral part of the focus,” Willis says.

“These images include my wife, myself, and our children spread out through the years. And of course, my in-laws, Harry and Kathleen, who purchased this small, 28-acre farm. They had previously owned a rather large farm which Harry missed,” he adds.

Four generations of the family are pictured in the Willis exhibit. For information, phone 717-948-6029.
