Two to head new Hershey museum

The M.S. Hershey Foundation has announced that The Hershey Story, the new museum under construction on Chocolate Avenue will open in January. The foundation also announced the appointments of Don Papson as the museum’s interim director, and Amy Bischof as associate director.

Student cheaters pay price eventually

Grace Shyu, 17, said she's seen fellow students cheating to get ahead. They copy off tests and turn in plagiarized work, Shyu said, and she's heard some students say they believe those who don't cheat are the dumb ones. Even teachers are sometimes apathetic about reprimanding cheaters, she said.

Medicaid overseers can earn bonuses

Amid calls to end bonuses for state workers after a bonus program for legislative staffers triggered a criminal investigation at the Capitol, the state Department of Public Welfare is about to launch a bonus program for some of its workers. The program would offer bonuses of $500 and $2,500 to 181 employees in two offices -- the Bureau of Program Integrity and its Division of Third Party Liability.

Fuel saver fails test in police cars

Emmaus has instructed the company that sold it "fuel-saving" devices to remove them from borough police cars because the gadgets failed to conclusively improve fuel economy over 90 days, the borough's police chief said.
