Internship
A 3-credit internship must be completed if a student has not had full-time experience in a training and development position for at least six months. The internship is tailored to a student's particular interest in the training and development field. It allows the student to apply academic experiences in a "real world" environment. Penn State Harrisburg can offer a wide range of internship experiences in a variety of public and private businesses, organizations, and industries.
The internship requires a total of 240 hours of involvement in the assessment, analysis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of a training program under direct, on-site supervision. An internship may be scheduled only after completing a minimum of four (4) courses in Training and Development. A request for waiver of the internship may be submitted for consideration to the program committee.
