Lose, a 23-year-old communications student at Penn State, grew up dreaming of a future in fashion. “I would page through old magazines and dream of pursuing a career in fashion,” said Lose, who spends time working in Philadelphia for Philadelphia Style. “My goal is to become senior editor for Vogue. Vogue is fashion and you know you’ve made it in the business if you’re working for them,” Lose said. Lose also has a bug for traveling. “I want a career that will enable me to travel and see the world,” Lose said. Having already traveled to Switzerland, she hopes to visit other countries to develop her eye in international fashion. Lose is half Cherokee and describes her style as electric with an urban twist. “I can’t classify myself as having any specific style. I like everything,” she said. The Bellefonte, Pa. native found that fashion magazines gave her an escape from the ultra-conservative, Victorian town in which she grew up. “When I was young, I would love to draw sketches of outfits,” said Lose. Lose said her mother has been her biggest role model and supporter along with her boyfriend, Matt, of five years. The couple plans to move to New York City so Jennifer can pursue a career in fashion marketing or advertising. |
