Energy Conversion Laboratory (Room W5)

The Energy Conversion Laboratory is in the basement of the Olmsted Building. This well-equipped laboratory with 1000 square feet of floor space has an adjoining classroom with 450 square feet of floorspace. The equipment in this laboratory is used for the electrical service courses for the Mechanical Engineering Technology program, for the energy conversion course (EET 222, Energy Conversion) taught to transfer students, and for the three technical elective and senior project courses (EET 409, Power System Analysis I, EET 410, Power System Analysis II, EET 420 Senior Project, and EET 423, Industrial Electronics) taught to the EET students. Additionally, this laboratory is used for the E ENG 443, Electrical Engineering Capstone Design. The room has been upgraded with a large number of new motors, alternators, generators and control equipment so that all types of energy conversion experiments can be setup.
