Environmental Pollution Control Program

Degree Offerings

Master of Science (MS) is a research-oriented degree, requiring a graduate thesis to be written on some area of environmental pollution control. The completion of 30 credits, including twelve 500-level credits, one credit of the EPC 590 Colloquium, and six 600-level thesis research credits in the thesis adviser’s department of affiliation are required.

Master of Environmental Pollution Control (MEPC) degree is a professional degree recommended for those students who want to attain proficiency in a specific area of environmental pollution control yet do not wish to be engaged in independent research as required in an academic degree. The completion of 30 credits, including fifteen 500-level credits which includes one credit of the EPC 590 Colloquium, and up to three paper-writing credits (596) in the affiliating department. A scholarly report is to be written on some aspect of the student’s study in environmental pollution control at a level of accomplishment and quality expected of a graduate thesis.
