The Environmental Pollution Control (EPC) Program deals with various aspects of air, land, and water pollution control. This intercollege masters degree program offers two degrees: MS and MEPC. Graduate instruction is under the direction of an interdisciplinary faculty committee and the departments participating in the program. The EPC faculty have teaching and research interests in the area of environmental pollution control, and, where projects are being funded, support opportunities may be available. Currently 41 faculty from 19 departments in four colleges are participating in the EPC Program at University Park (see Appendix B). For a qualified applicant to be accepted as a candidate, the EPC Program must first find a faculty member with expertise in the applicants area of environmental interest who is available and willing to serve as adviser. In the job market, EPC graduates find a wide array of employment opportunities and are hired as environmental specialists, planners, scientists, project engineers, and consultants with government agencies, consulting firms, and industry.
