| Financial Support Financial support can be sought through application for graduate assistantships, fellowships, student loans, work-study positions, and other funding sources. The availability of a graduate assistantship is largely dependent upon the current status of the research programs of the faculty member who agrees to advise the student. University Graduate Fellowships are awarded by the Graduate School to a limited number of scholastically outstanding students. In prior years students with an average Jr.- Sr. GPA of 3.8 and average GRE scores (total verbal and quantitative) of 1400 have received awards. While these are not the only selection criteria used, this information is offered to help you realize the extreme competitiveness of this program. If you are interested in being nominated for a fellowship for the fall semester, your application and supporting documents must be received in our office by February 1st.
