1994 graduate saluted by Training and Development Society

Penn State Harrisburg graduate Robert D. Jackson’s many years of service as a human resource professional has been saluted with a Lifetime Achievement Award presented by the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development.

Jackson, who earned a master’s degree in Training and Development from the college in 1994, is a state Office of Administration employee with more than 20 years of experience in employee training and human resources. He was one of six finalists for the award.

Web 2.0 and ‘Project Unity’ presentation Dec. 4

Web 2.0 has ushered in a new wave of social computing that enables teams to collaborate, share information, and create new services online. Lockheed Martin’s “Project Unity” is one such example.

Conceived as a way of applying Web 2.0 technologies for “mission success,” Project Unity is a social computing ecosystem that integrates Google enterprise search appliance, Microsoft’s Windows SharePoint Services, and Newsgator’s Enterprise Server.

Penn State Harrisburg faculty member earns national accolade

Penn State Harrisburg faculty member Shaun Gabbidon’s pioneering research and scholarship in the field of criminal justice has earned him another national accolade.

For his "outstanding work in the field of racial and ethnic issues in criminology," the Professor of Criminal Justice has been named the winner of the W.E.B. Du Bois Award presented annually by the Western Society of Criminology.
