Stepping Stone Child Care Center

Stepping Stone Childcare has been offering quality childcare services to the children of the faculty, staff, students and alumni of Penn State Harrisburg for over ten years. The programs that the childcare center provides not only meet the child's social, emotional and physical needs, but also support intellectual and creativity development. Some components of these programs include: music, free play, outdoor play, art creative activities, storytelling, science and language development. Also, nutritious snacks and lunches are provided by the center.

Stepping Stone Childcare will take infants (6 weeks) through 12 years of age and is open Monday Through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Faculty seminar to focus on artificial intelligence

The final 2008 installment in the Penn State Harrisburg Faculty Seminar Series will feature a presentation by Professor of Information Systems Parag Pendharkar Wednesday, Dec. 3 at noon in the Gallery Lounge.

Dr. Pendharkar’s presentation will focus on artificial intelligence, decision support, and software engineering. A light lunch will be provided

1994 graduate saluted by Training and Development Society

Penn State Harrisburg graduate Robert D. Jackson’s many years of service as a human resource professional has been saluted with a Lifetime Achievement Award presented by the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development.

Jackson, who earned a master’s degree in Training and Development from the college in 1994, is a state Office of Administration employee with more than 20 years of experience in employee training and human resources. He was one of six finalists for the award.

Teacher Education Unit earns national accreditation

Penn State Harrisburg’s commitment to achieve national accreditation of its professional academic programs whenever the opportunity exists has reached an historic milestone.

The college has just been informed that its Teacher Education Unit, which consists of undergraduate and graduate programs, has earned full accreditation from the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
