  • ACCESS ACCOUNTS - An Access Account is a user ID and password that enables Penn State students, faculty, and staff to use the I.I.T. internet services on or off campus, at computer labs or on personal computers.  To obtain your ID and password take your Penn State photo ID to an automatic signature station located in Help Desk in the Basement of the Olmsted Building, outside the Housing Office, E122 Olmsted Building or the Front Desk of the Library.  Your account should be active within 24 hours.   For more information see: http://aset.its.psu.edu/accounts/

  • Backup Service - The IIT Department has purchased a Dell automated tape library. The tape library will enable IIT to back up the servers as well as users' My Documents and email folders on their PC each night. In order to back up a user's computer, the computer must be left on every night and a software agent must be installed. The software agent installation takes a few minutes and you do not have to be present to have this done.

If you would like to have your PC backed up by the tape library, complete an IIT Workorder, and include your name, room number, computer name, and the name of any folders that would like IIT to add to the backup list. (Note: To find your computer name, right click on My Computer, go to Properties, and select the Computer Name tab. You should see your full computer name.)
