The policies of the Penn State-Capital College Computer Center are a supplement to the computing policies of Penn State University. (For more information about the University's computing policies, see Policies, Guidelines, and Laws.
- You MUST have an Access ID and password to log in to the computers in the general purpose technology classrooms listed here.
- Technology enhanced classrooms are locked. They are intended for use only while class is in session. They will be opened when the instructor arrives for class and closed when the instructor dismisses class. If the room has a combination lock, faculty assigned to that room will be given the combination. If the room has a key lock, the room will be opened for you. Any unscheduled use without written note from the faculty member and initialed by IIT staff will be reported to Police Services.
- New faculty and staff will need to APPLY for Penn State Access accounts at: http://cac.psu.edu/accounts/accountsforms/AccessAccountForm.pdf or see your administrative assistant or stop by IIT's office, E-302 Olmsted.
- The following items are not permitted in the Computer Center...
- food and beverages
- computer games
- using the computer to create, store, display or transmit obscene messages, images, or sounds (see University Policy AD-20 for more information and penalties)
- Please notify a student lab operator about the items below (and do not attempt to fix)...
- broken or faulty equipment
- dusty or dirty monitor
- jammed printer paper
- printers out of paper or need new toner
- If you make printed papers...
- discard your unwanted printed copies in the paper recycling bins
- do not take or discard printer copies that are not yours
- pick the copies up as soon as possible; unclaimed copies will be discarded after one day
- If you borrow materials...
- you must have a valid PSU photo ID card
- the materials must remain in the Computer Center and cannot be signed out overnight
- the materials must be returned to the operator's desk by closing time
- The PC's in the labs...
- may be reserved by faculty or staff for classroom instruction
- are available to all users unless they are reserved for instruction
- may not be reserved for individual use
- The Operator in the Lab...
- is NOT a consultant. See the instructor of your course for problems related to software used by that course
- The hours of operation...
- may vary (check the schedule)
- are available by calling 948-6188 or 948-6412
- are posted to the bulletin board next to the elevator
- Lost and found items...
- may be recovered at the operator's desk
