The Periodicals Holdings List is a comprehensive listing of the periodicals--including journals, magazines, and newspapers--currently available at the Penn State Harrisburg Library. Periodicals are listed alphabetically by title, along with holdings information (volumes and dates) and shelving locations.

Tips on Deciphering the Periodicals Holdings List

Open listings, such as:

v.1 (1968)-

mean that we have holdings from volume 1 (1968) to the present.

A listing that looks like this:

Microfilm: v. 1-10 (1985-1994);
v. 11 (1995)-

means that we have the first ten volumes/years in microfilm format, then our holdings continue from 1995 to the present in paper.

A listing that says:

see: AMERICAN HISTORY

means that the title in question is shelved alphabetically under AMERICAN HISTORY.

If it says:

continues: AMERICAN HISTORY

or:

continued by: AMERICAN HISTORY

it means that the title has changed, and older or newer issues are shelved under this title.

Periodicals are arranged alphabetically by title, not by subject or call number. Although the periodicals list should reflect title changes and other pertinent cross-references, it can still get confusing, so please don't hesitate to ask at the periodicals desk for help.

Journals and newspapers in microfilm and microfiche formats are filed in the cabinets in the periodicals area. You'll also find readers and printers for the microfilm and microfiche nearby.

Full-text articles from many journals are now available online. This includes some of the titles we have in paper. To determine if the full text of a specific journal is available, use the E-Journals and E-Newspapers Title Search.
