The computer lab in W-225 has 40 tablet PCs and is used as a classroom for group projects.

Materials Lab

SDCET Materials Testing Laboratory is equipped with sophisticated testing systems for teaching as well as research use. In teaching laboratory, emphasis is placed on testing the behavior of existing materials. In research, the emphasis placed on testing the behavior of existing materials as well as development of new materials. The laboratory houses state-of-the-art test equipments that include: Digital concrete compression testing system with 500,000 lb capacity (TestMark); Servo-electric universal testing system (MTS); Triaxial testing system; Multifunctional nondestructive testing system (OLSON); and computers for data acquisition. In addition to the test systems, the laboratory is equipped with concrete mixer, saw, ovens, digital scales, and other equipment for preparation of laboratory specimens.

Other Laboratory Resources

Surveying Laboratory is equipped with sophisticated instruments that are commonly used by professionals in the field. This is predominantly a teaching laboratory that is designed to train the students into their profession. Emphasis is placed on understanding the concepts, use of equipment, and data collection. The laboratory houses state-of-the-art test equipments that include: Digital total station equipment (Nikon); Theodolite (Sokkisha); and Automatic level (Sokkisha). In addition to this equipment, the laboratory is also equipped with prism poles, rang rods, tapes, tripods and other instruments that are essential in measuring distances, angles, and elevation (topographic survey). Students are also introduced to computer software AutoCAD for performing advanced analysis with topographic survey.

The Engineering Technology Laboratory is used for engineering majors to conduct lab work and research. The building houses computer labs as well as materials lab.
